HouseCall

HouseCall is a free web-based utility which scans for and cleans computers of viruses, Trojans, spyware, and other malware. It performs additional security checks to identify and fix vulnerabilities to prevent reinfection. According to Trend Micro HouseCall is compatible with all browsers and the following operating systems: Windows XP (32-bit) Home or Professional; Windows Vista (32-bit, 64-bit) Ultimate, Business, Home Premium, or Home Basic; and Windows 7, RC (32-bit, 64-bit); and Windows 8. HouseCall version 7.1 allowed users to perform a Full Scan, Quick Scan, or Custom Scan.

HijackThis

HijackThis is a freeware open source anti-malware application for Microsoft Windows. It scans a user’s hard drive and registry for irregularities in Windows installations. Experienced users can review the log files generated by HijackThis to fix security threats.

Trend Micro Titanium Antivirus + is a virus scanner that also lets you surf the web safely because it blocks access to malicious websites and prevents malicious drive-by downloads. A component of the Trend Micro Smart Protection Network uses web-reputation technology to protect you online. The web-reputation approach assigns a score to domains and individual pages. The score is a function of the site’s age, location changes and various factors that could provide a clue about potential danger. In a similar fashion, email-reputation technology protects your system from email-borne threats by validating IP addresses and checking reputation databases of sources known to be bad. By stopping threats while they are still in the cloud, botnets are unable to reach your PC or your network.
